Bay Area Motion Graphics Holds December Meeting San Francisco, December 10, 2001 - Bay Area Motion Graphics will hold its monthly meeting at 6:45 p.m. on December 10 at the Graphic Arts Institute (GAI) in San Francisco. Danny Riddell and Andrew Britt, authors of the soon to be released "A Visual Quickstart Guide to Maya," will talk about using Maya. Riddell was the creator and director of Ex'pression Center for New Media's Web Design and Development department as well as Associate Director of the DVM (3D Animation) department. He owns design firm Riddell Design Group, and continues to write and run tutorials. Andrew S. Britt is a teacher and freelance artist who has taught at The Academy of Art College in San Francisco and is currently the associate director of the visual department at Ex'pression Center For New Media in Emeryville, California. Next up, Jim Tierney will be talking about Psunami, the ocean/water simulation plug-in for After Effects recently taken over by Digital Anarchy. Tierney will demonstrate some of the non-simulation effects it's capable of, as well as showing off the water effects. He will also give a rundown of some of the new stuff at DVExpo. Lastly, Matt Silverman will be at the meeting showing off MicroCosm, a new lossless QT codec that supports 16-bit channels. Attendees should bring their reels, as there will be time for show and tell at the end of the meeting. GAI is located at 665 Third Street on the fifth floor. |
