Phoenix Tools and Areté Entertainment announced the release of Psunami
1.0, a plug-in for SOFTIMAGE®|XSI™ v. 2.X. Psunami for SOFTIMAGE|XSI is
the complete solution for photo-realistic animation of wave surfaces that
includes all the tools for simulating and visualizing a variety of water
surfaces, such as oceans and lakes, including disturbances such as

Now we want to inform you about our next goal:
in fact we are in advanced development phase of Psyclone for
Softimage|XSI. Psyclone is a volumetric cloud/smoke effect that
creates a dramatic evolving cloud/smoke sequences by simply adding
Psyclone to Softimage|XSI shapes that the user creates to generate
volumetric, high-resolution cloud/smoke simulations. It may create
dramatic fly-through and fly-around effects. Psyclone includes an advanced
optics shader that allows full control of volumetric lighting properties
such as self-shadowing, visibility, and specular highlights.
The Beta Release for the porting of Psyclone
for Softimage|XSI will be shown at Siggraph 2002 and will be officially
