IRIX/Linux Licensing
Diagnostics >>
Please follow the steps
below to generate the information needed to diagnose your licensing
problem. Once you have finished generating this information, please e-mail
as attachments to
techsupport@areteis.com and include:
- Company Name
- Platform: SGI, WinNT, Win2000,
WinXP, or
Linux
- 3D Program & Version: Maya or
Softimage|3D
- AEI Software Product & Version:
Psunami, Psyclone, P_Liquid, Pyro, RenderWorld, Digital GameWare
API
- Issue Type: Installation or
Licensing
- Description of Problem.
- Navigate to /usr/local/arete/license/tools
- Type: ./lmdown -c ../arete.lic and hit Y when
asked if you are sure
- Navigate up one directory to /usr/local/arete/license
- Re-start the Arete License Server by typing: ./launch_lmgrd
- Notice that a flexlm.log file has been created.
- Next, type: ./hostname > hostname.txt
- Next type: ./lmhostid > lmhostid.txt
- Next navigate down a directory into /usr/local/arete/license/tools
- Type: ./lmcksum -c ../arete.lic > ../lmcksum.txt
- Type: ./lmdiag -c ../arete.lic > ../lmdiag.txt
- Type: ./lmstat -a -c ../arete.lic > ../lmstat.txt
- Navigate up one directory to /usr/local/arete/license.
- List the directory contents by typing "ls"
- Get a screen shot of the shell listing the /usr/local/arete/license
directory contents. Paste the screen shot into any imaging editor and
save the file as shell.jpg
Now that you have gotten all this
information together, you will need to e-mail ALL of the following files.
Please note ALL of this information is needed in order to run the complete
and proper diagnostics on your problem.

- /usr/local/arete/license/lmhostid.txt

- command.jpg
- ~/.cshrc or ~/.bashrc file
